World leading trade fairs in Düsseldorf
Without pipes, wires and cables our modern life, in industry and everyday life, would be unthinkable.
In Düsseldorf, the Messeduo Wire and Tube is now showing for the 15th time what is new in the worldwide wire, cable and pipe industry.
Every two years, the leading companies in the world’s wire, cable and pipe industry compete in Düsseldorf.
Actually, wire (wire and cable) and tube (pipes) are two separate trade fairs, but the joint appearance is already planned for the 15th time this year and has proven its worth.
2600 exhibitors from 50 countries will be showing the technological highlights of their industries on 111,000 sqm by 8 April 2016.
Everyday wire products – the shopping cart has to withstand a lot
The situation is serious in the European steel industry, says Messeseite.
Overcapacities in the world market, low-cost imports from China and massive price pressure have created the manufacturers of the industries.
Nevertheless, as many exhibitors as ever will present their products at the trade fair.
The relevance of the two sectors in our society, which is increasingly based on communication technology, has increased.
Not only in everyday life that would not work without connecting cables, metal springs or telephone wires.
A good example of how a wire made everyday product with high demands on the material is benefiting from new technology is the shopping cart.
He is pushed around daily and rammed and has to endure a lot until he is discarded after an average mileage of 10,000 km.
The supporting tubes of the trolley, which can withstand the load of 200 kg, are now cut using high-precision laser cutting machines.
New cutting technology with laser also makes small quantities efficient
Where previously sawed, milled and drilled in complex single steps, everything now runs fully automatic and extremely fast.
The only tool is the laser beam, which can apply any contours, holes and cutouts. With the 3600 W strong laser, even small numbers can be processed with comparatively little effort.
Not only shopping carts are processed with laser tube cutting technology, but also bicycles, fitness machines or machine frames in the automobile sector and many furniture are now manufactured with it.
In the shopping cart, demand is boosted, as around 100,000 items are stolen every year.
A major topic of the pipe industry is the world-wide water and sewer systems
More than 1200 exhibitors will be exhibiting their products from the fields of pipe production, trade and accessories at the tube trade fair Tube.
One of the major issues in the industry is lack or deficient channels, whose repair, renovation and renewal are causing a lot of headaches in many industries.
In St. Petersburg, 40 percent of the 6755 km long urban water pipeline network is worn, reports the company for foreign trade and location marketing.
By 2025, the city will also modernize the sewage system and exchange the rapidly rusting pipes from pig iron.
Also in the USA, for example in Chicago or Washington D.C., will be replaced in the near future by 40 percent of the pipelines.
They are partly from the 1940s to the 1960s and are in very bad condition.
Also in Germany further restoration needs in the sewer network
In Germany, the rehabilitation requirements are also high and the demand for pipes is corresponding.
The German Association for Water Management, Wastewater and Waste assumes that about 20 percent of all sewer systems are damaged and are nearing the end of their service life.
During the renewal process, the choice of suitable materials for pipe production is important.
Until now, stoneware and concrete / reinforced concrete have mainly been used as materials.
Plastic pipes are slowly picking up on new networks, and their share is currently 7 percent of the total network.
At the special show Plastic Tube Forum manufacturers of plastic pipes will show the advantages of long lasting plastic tubes during the show.
