Proxima Centauri is our closest, cosmic neighbor floating just 4.25 light years from Earth, so extremely interesting should be considered as recent observations made with the help of telescope at the La Silla Observatory in Chile. Indeed, there have been spotted an Exoplanet that is similar to the Earth.
That it is similar to the Earth means that is the planet of stone, but fortunately, there the similarities do not end there since it is located at such a distance from its star that its surface can be water in the liquid state (in so-called zone of residence).
Proxima Centauri is the third star of the very interesting layout, it is 0.2 light year from the double-Alpha Centauri A and B, and to the Earth closer to her about 0.12 light year, making it the nearest the Sun Star.
Unfortunately, in this case, we need to wait for confirmation of the discovery, the more that it was made with the help of the same telescope, which a few years ago gave us a false alarm in the case of Alpha Centauri, indicating the existence of exoplanets, however-as it turned out later: no.
Official announcement confirmed the result we expect at the end of August, and the case researchers don’t want to spend any comments that do not induce premature euphoria. However, if the existence of this just to be clear, we will have a confirmed Exoplanet target for future missions. And in the further future, perhaps also to colonize?
