More power for the metal-working industry

‘Power your business’ it means tomorrow in the Düsseldorf exhibition halls on the Metav. Strengthen the metal processing industry can be more efficient and far smarter. Because the international trade fair for metal processing technologies presents itself even more powerfully than in the past. Established trade fair concept was expanded to include four new topics. The international fair of technologies of metal processing (Metav) comes with a new concept in the Düsseldorf trade fair halls. Just four new so-called areas were integrated into the trade fair. Additive manufacturing, quality assurance, tool, mold making and medical technology. There also stands now find their place next to individual exhibitors. And obviously met the organizer of the Metav, the Association of German machine tool factory VDW, with these new issues fully into the black.

“Well over 50 percent more exhibitors”

“The response far exceeds our expectations,” forward VDW Managing Director Wilfried Schäfer, especially about the numbers involved in quality assurance. “We are far beyond 50 percent more exhibitors than at the premiere two years ago. Thus the quality area is really “chock full” and we can offer our visitors a very wide range for the subject of quality assurance”. Each area is complemented by a forum with lectures, providing in-depth information on the respective topics visitors.

Forum in the quality assurance of the Chair of production measurement technology and quality assurance at the machine tool laboratory (WLZ) is organized at RWTH Aachen.

Synergies between the core areas and topics

Lots of synergies emerge between the core areas of Metav and the topics of the four new areas. So, traditional machine tool manufacturer developing already today machines for additive manufacturing. Additive process are also used in medical technology. Medical technology, tool and mold are in turn attractive customer groups for the long-established exhibitors of the fair. And of course, the quality assurance with all fields of the production is closely linked.

All user sectors processed metal in its sights

“Unchanged Metav in the future for the value chain in production engineering from the planning with CAD/CAM and simulation of production is to the automation and quality assurance,” stressed Saeed.

Thus, Metav has all metal processing user industries in focus, in particular the automotive and supplier industry, mechanical engineering, medical technology and aircraft construction, electrical engineering and electronics as well as the iron, sheet metal and metal processing industry.

Tool machines dominate the issuer field

In the five days of the fair, visitors encounter total 881 exhibitors until February 27. These are about 10 percent more than at the last Metav in 2014. The field is dominated by 212 exhibitors from the field of machine tools. The wide arch spans while of lathes of all kinds across the world of drilling machines, milling machines, transfer machines, grinding machines, punching machines, presses, gear cutting machines and labeling machines.
Industry 4.0 is new

For the first time, Metav shows industry 4.0 for the entire production process in the “theme park industry of 4.0 solutions for the manufacturing”. It is trend-setter. 20 companies and institutions want to present their solutions in this theme park and in lectures. They range from Axoom via SAP to Tornos. The range of companies is complemented production North Rhine-Westphalia and the VDMA Forum by the cluster industry 4.0. Metav is open every day from 9: 00 until 5: 00 in the exhibition halls 14 to 17, on Saturday, the fair already closes at 16: 00.
