The two huge trucks circulate for several days in the social media, look so real, as if they had been photographed during a photo-op. Actually it’s illustrations of two young designers who have visualized their idea of self-propelled electric trucks for Audi and set on the creative platform.

Driver as helmeted astronauts sit on the driver’s cab

“Our goal was to develop self-propelled electric trucks of the Audi brand,” report the industrial and automotive designer Artem Smirnov and Vladimir Panchenko. At the design stage, they would have pursued two possible directions and plan A a self-propelled electric truck and the plan B drawn a pure show-truck.

“We wanted to actually opt for the better option, but the plan failed. Therefore, we present both drafts.” Users of Behance may decide which of the designs is the better one.

Both specimens are so futuristic and styled through, that they could be without another candidate for a design award. The smooth surfaces are decorated in elegant black and white with its gentle curves and the hermetically sealed-looking cab. At the show-truck driver and front passenger appear also, which is not in the, but sitting on the driver’s cab in the open air.

Helmeted and in shell-like seats they seem as two astronauts whose spaceship is self employed and required only rarely human help.

If designer to adorn themselves with foreign brand names

That the two truck should belong to the Audi brand, because the two designers leave no doubt. Logo, lettering, and audi slogan “Vorsprung durch Technik” appear anywhere. Get Audi now so unexpectedly in the production of self moving trucks?

Michael Crusius, surprise as Audi’s spokesman is responsible for driver assistance systems. “We develop also self-propelled cars, but definitely no trucks while at Audi”, Crusius confirmed to cadincadout.com. More often, it feel that designers adorned their designs with brand names better attention.

Also Vladimir Panchenko and Artem Smirnov have been for Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Volkswagen and Mitsubishi “designed”. It must not necessarily mean that these are the worse ideas.
